I have sent my son for a holiday program where they included arts, gym and drawing. It was really really lousy. For Arts, my son was given watercolor, and told to do free expression. No guidance from the teacher at all. Learn nothing from it. Could easily do it yourself. For gym, the setup remained the same for the whole mth. After 2 weeks, my son was very bored. Not worth the money and time at all.
Hi April,
Came across your comment on Gymboree.
My 2 year old son goes to Sky Gym at Turf City.
We are both happy with the staff there as well as the gym facilities. Its strictly gym activities with some yoga/stretching exercises conducted during circle time. The set up is changed every week and the instructors are really friendly.
If you are still looking for a gym, perhaps you may want to make some enquires or go down and take a look there.
Hi Ip,
May I know the cost, duration and how big the class will be? Keen to check it out. Tks!
Hi April,
My son goes to gymtots evry tues morn. Its for kids from 1 to 3 and a half yrs old. Depending on the weeks, its bet 300 to 360 per term. Its for an hour per session for 1x a week.
You can choose to sign up for 1x to 3x a week. They give a discount for 2nd and 3rd child enrolled there. If your child is older, then there's the kindergym class for 3 to 6 yrs old. I can't speak for other programmes, as mine is a parent accompanied programme and at most there are 12 kids. There are always 2 instructors there. There are weekday and saturday classes as well.
Generally, for parent accompanied programme, the instructors will guide the child on how to use the gym course/stuff and even join them if necessary. Based on my observation, they takes turns giving each child their attention and time.
This is my second term here and I am very happy with them. One main reason is that they allow make up class without even without providing an mc. It helps because sometimes you may not want to bring your child to the doc when he is not well if you have medication at home.
Prior to signing up, I made a lot of enquires and even went down to some gyms to take a look, but in the end I settled for this.
Some of the info is based on the pamphlet from last term. They may have updated their info. You can call 64664656 and ask for Idah(pronounced as E-dah). She is v friendly and helpful. Or you can log on to http://www.skygym.com.sg to find out more. Hope this helps.
Tks Ip for all the info, its really useful.
I don't see how this changes things
