My child loves being in Josiah. Although she cried in the first few days of school, I am amazed how well she settled in within the first week!! I also find the environment to be extremely hygenic and the front desk staff and teachers are all very friendly. This definitely helped me feel more secure in placing my girl here.

My girl settled in very well and she enjoys going to school.

The teachers are very friendly and helpful. My girl's "form teacher" updates us regularly about her progress too. Although there are other schools at East Point, I feel very safe because Josiah is the only school there gives the children under their charge temperature, hands, feet and mouth checks before they step into their premises especially with the recent spike in HFM disease.

As a parent, I confident leaving my girl there.

Yes this is important..the centre that my gal is in now... doesnt have stringent checks.

If someone is talking to the teacher at the door.. the rest of other kids were not checked at all. and they get to go into the centre.. just like that.

Ladies... My boy is sent to ELFA at Jalan Pari Burong, which is nearby. It is always Full but managed to get a vacancy in the centre. Recommended by a client that it has zero staff turnover for 3- more years as her son's teachers are still there since he was 2. Now he is 6. Teachers are always cheery and parents are welcomed to pop by in class to see how's the child's progressing. Updates every fortnight in written forms. It is a big difference compared to my older son's preschool.

hey are you all aware that Josiah is packed to the brim and you can only be on the wait list for 2009 registration? I've put mine...I'll just grab whatever session they can offer. Heard so much about it being packed, so it;s true. Decided to visit the one in Simei and it's impressive -the classroom, children looked happy, settled and busy. And staff was very friendly and helpful. Hopefully my son will be able to get in.

Hi ! My both children have attended Josiah Montessori in 2002 and 2004 under Ms looly and ms novelle. Personally ,I really regret my decision to send my two children as I feel very strongly that environment out there was very strict and controlled in k2. The emphasis is only on education and discipline so that they can impress the parents and the money would keep rolling in .Even though it claims to be a Montessori School ,It is far behind the norms, principles and practices of any montessori school and the sylabus they stuff into young children is PURELY SHOCKING as even children in primary one are also not expected to know so much. Parents ,I just have a small request ..Your child will eventually learn when it will be the right time for them to learn but the joys of childhood will never ever return ...Please do not snatch away their childhood under the name of advanced learning ....Let a child be allowed to be a child .....

  • Genni says:

    Hi Anita
I wish you can inform the school on this issue and also let them see what parents are looking for in a preschool. Many schools are trying very hard to impress parents by 'force feeding' knowledge into those little brains that actually require learning at their own pace and interest. Preschoolers should learn the basic as in developing their confidence, independence and motor/fine motor skills.
    cheers
