I certainly won't want the toilets right next to the classrooms ! That would be absolutely unhygenic. Toilets - after a session of activities, the teachers will lead the kids to the loo. If at any time during class the kids need to go to the loo, one teacher will bring the child while the rest continue with the activities.
Ask Me - if you are a parent then you are supposed to pick up your kid at a certain time, you should be there PUNCTUALLY. Why should the school put your kid through more activities to accomodate the tardiness of a parent ? There is a waiting area, where parents have to sign off to show that the kids are picked up. If the kids have to wait, then I don't see why the teachers must engage the kids further until the tardy parent arrives. Please, they had 3 hours of classes, the kids are exhausted !
Security - there is a security guard, if not more.
I did not say that the centre REQUIRED me to take enrichment lessons. The centre offered, and I accepted it because it's an area I am aware my daugher can do better. It has nothing to with the programme of the school being weak, if that's your conclusion. If my child only had the normal kindergarten class, she'd be fine, but I'd probably have to enrol her in Berries or some other Chinese enrichment programme - simply because we don't have the home environment. The school offers this programme on a daily basis, which is clearly one up on attending Berries once or twice a week.
btw there is a childcare there.
one more thing. the school does offer other enrichment programmes - gymnastics, dancing, perhaps speech and drama. It's up to the parents to sign their kiddies up for such programmes. I think it's good, coz it's in the familiarity of the school environment.
so in case there is an impression I was forced to sign my kid up for the Chinese class - it ain't true. I could have signed my kid up in nursery this year for the Chinese classes - I didn't.
Only a mother would know what her child needs best
(and my mandarin sucks !)
Hi,
anyone has any comments on Kinderland Tampines SAFRA? Thanks.
Also, is an airconditioned CC or non-aircon CC better?
Hi,
Anyone know a good pre school in Yishun? Just attended the first day in nursery class with my daugher and was very unhappy with the teacher at PAP centre. Thinking of withdrawing her .
Hi! My 3- yr- old daughter is enrolled in Carpe Diem Pre School's ( above Yishun Polyclinic) half day program since Dec 08.
Frankly, I am not satisfied with the class structure and the student -teacher-ratio ( although they are at the max level based on MOE's guideline and they had also recently accepted one more - out of the max)
I am also thinking of withdrawing her from the school and planning to enroll her in PAP since its not a child care.
Lienhuong, may I know which PAP centre you enrolled your daughter in and why are you not satisfied with the teacher??
Hi, have any of the parents heard anything about Red SchoolHouse? Intended to enrol my daughter to that school. Any comment?
My daughter is at PAP blk 737. The school is untidy and the teachers are not caring. My husband supported PAP and we did not withdraw her.
Now, after half a year, my girl dreads going to school. The teacher once forgot her on the bus during a field trip. She only remembered when I came look for her.
Last week, my girl was pushed and felt and injured her private part. It shocked me to see blood staints on her panty when I changed her.
When I visited the school to check on the area that she fell, I saw the children playing on their own while the teachers sat quietly at one corner.
Desperate to look for another one.
