    Hi Donna

You seems very much involved in promoting MindChamps. Saw your postings in many other preschool forum promoting them. It's really sad if people take advantage of forum for free advertisment. Have any of you read their (MindChamps) advertisement today (4th Dec 2009)? They have the cheek to advertise that 40% of their PSLE enrichment students get As. Their courses is not cheap. $4500 per student for just a few lessons! Just walk into a few of your neighbourhood tuition centres and you will see most of them has abt 90% of their PSLE students getting As if not A*. MindChamps did not even show any A* students or maybe they have none to speak! Ha Ha.... so much for champion mind set.

Monte system itself is a good one but like what some others have mentioned, it has to be tweated to fit our local P1 requirements. A pure Monte environment throughout for a child may spell disasters when he/she enters P1.

I agree with one of the comments above that many Monte centres are bluff ones. For parents who are keen to send their children to a Monte centre, you are strongly encourge to research to know more about the system so that when you visit a Monte centre to evaluate its environment, materials, or for a trial lesson, you will know roughly what to expect. One of the earlier comments holds the very truth of request for a trial class and you visit with your child with some background knowledge in mind (if you find any cartoons / Snow White / Disney posters & paintings, etc, in a centre, then more or less can write off that centre as a blufff Monte one as Monte doesn't believe in fantasies.) I am very strict on this as using it one of the basis to evaluate a Monte centre (still will look at their Monte materials, completeness of such materials, the way lessons are conducted, etc).

Children below 3 YO benefit the most from a Monte System as it supposes to develop excellent self help skills for young children. After that, they maybe better off in a regular system to 'face reality' in Singapore education.

    JMHO.

    Hi Adam,

Its even sadder when people contribute to this forum purely from a negative unconstructive point of view.

This forum would be much better if parents can share their personal point of views and help other parents make a better choice. I have personally visited the centres and provided the feedback based upon my own experience as a mum looking for a good preschool for my child.

I am not interested in promoting any particular brand.

    Your accusations are ridiculous.

If you have something against Mindchamps, pls take it somewhere else. And btw, we are talking abt preschools and childcare in this forums. Your reference to the advertisement is not for the preschoolers. Pls go somewhere else.

Good to find this thread here. Am an MMI parent residing in the west. Just like to say my boy has improved much after joining the centre. So far, I feel the Montessori method is working for him and having met his form teacher I'll say she's up to our expectations.
