Hi Nisa,

Happened to come across your post. It is indeed confusing. I know how you feel. Start by reading this website and reading more abt 3-4 preschool in your area (either near home or near workplace). Then call the principals up and have a chat with them. Visit them and bring your child along to see the place and see if they like it.

Dear All,

I'm a stay home mum. My 3 yrs+ son is an only child and is already displaying only-child syndromes. I have taught him as much as I can in my capacity. I wish to send him to N2 next yr but I do not know how to choose a pre-school; PCF? Montessori? Private Schools? Which would provide an enjoyable quality preschool education? I'm really confused. PLEASE ADVISE. Thank you.

Hi,

My daughter went to Ascension Kindergarten in 2005 and 2006 for her K1 and K2. She had a really wonderful time. The school was very well run and they did alot of performing and visual arts. They own many lovely percussion instruments. Great if your kids like music. Don't expect any academic drills from there. They do just enough to prepare the kids for P1. The fees are reasonable. It's at the St Andrew's Village at Potong Pasir. Not sure how it is now but really worth checking it out

Very agree with Ms. Mui Hoong's point on education for the young ones. We are new to Singapore from the US, and would like to send our 5-yr-old and 2 yr. old boys to a child care/kingdergarten that is in Yishun area.

Parents should not be too "kiasu". Kids' abilities vary, and to blame their deficiencies on the schools is unfair.

Think about it : in our generation, we only had 1 year pre-school education and we ended up in university and received good education.

Having a head-start in P1 is a temporary advantage and by P6,it is really your genes that really make the difference.

Kindly recommend where i can get a gd preschool education for my 4yr old kid. Currently he is attending the PCF Kindergarten, but i wish to withdraw him fr there as my daughter attend 3yrs with them but unable to read a single sentence when she graduated.

Hi,

Would like to enrol a playgroup for my son (25mths) to try out. And i cant seem to find a list whereby it can show the Playgroup available around my mum places (Toh Guan Road)

Cos he do not seem to had any interest in reading books..as and when we will ask him to point out "APPLE" on the poster that past on the wall...he will simply point something else....

So kindly help to advise is it the right choice that i shld enrol him in Playgrp for him to meet with other kids for better growth as currently he is taken care by my mum and he will only be back home over the wkend.

Which provide good education and well qualify teacher.
