Hi Ping, I went 4 a "sch tour" @ MindChamps @ Tampines ard May 09. My opinion r
- I met d principal @ d sch entrance. She doesn't look friendly/warm or welcoming. Her body language showed me she is quite a snob.
- the sch is poorly shortage of teachers (or they call them trainers). They need 2 arrange a teacher (instead of a sales personnel whom they call educator advocate.. or something like tat) 2 show me ard d sch & introducing me d program. During d tour, I realised tat d teacher was supposed 2 teach a class, but becoz of us, she forgo d teaching & show us ard instead. (why can't d principal showed us ard since she was free then?). She even admitted tat d sch was in need of teachers. With 1 teacher on MC on tat day plus she had 2 bring us ard d sch, they had 2 struggle with classes!
- when I told her tat I only intend to register my son next yr , she was pretty pushy to get me registered for tis yr. When I asked her for next yr fee/program/etc, she would keep talking only abt tis yr fee/program/etc. Her face changed immediately (fr friendly/warm to "heck-care"attitude)when I stood firm tat I will only register next yr.
I do not know what d situation is now. That was just my experience on June tis yr tat I wish 2 share.
Just want to share my experience abt Learning Curve. Learning Curve used to conduct MMI teachings but have since stopped and hearsay it's cos of franchising cost. They do have good teachers (2 per class) but i noticed on many occasions one teacher would leave the class halfway to go foodcourt for break. Also i checked with MOE they are not licensed to run kindergarten but only for enrichment classes. That's the primarily reason why i choose to withdrawal my child some mths back. One impt consideration is to ensure that the centre is licensed by MOE and you can check it from MOE website.
Is it compulsary for a kid to attend a kindergarten that is licensed by MOE? Or the only difference is that you are able to use CDA account to pay for the school fee. Kindly advise.
As promised on 28 Nov, I will give my honest opinion on The Learning Curve. so here it is ....
My boy has just attended d Nursery 2 class @ The Learning Curve 3 days ago. He seems 2 enjoy it very much. He looks forward 2 go sch everyday & tat's a very gd sign. My boy is slower in communicating/conversation compares to other kids. I believe d teachers must hav showered him w lots of patience & care, hence he has no phobia in gg to sch.
I will continue to post honestly on the development of my boy @ The Learning Curve. I always believe tat if a sch is gd, it deserves a credit thru words of "internet post".

how much did you pay the class at TLC?
Sorry for late repyly, I tried to reply but had always been booted out by the computer. What happened to this site? I paid $1305 per term (11 weeks). Each session is 3 hours between Mon - Fri.
Is tlc a cc or kindergarten? Pls provide details like op hrs n fees.
